Inspired by the tiny icons of the equip-able items in World of Warcraft, I made a necklace. This is the somewhat rough prototype, there will be another post with a resin printed version.
Modelled in Fusion 360 and printed in cheap PLA on a now burnt out and very dead Prusa i3 clone, the Anet A8. Due to the low resolution of the printer I had to use a fair amount of filler (Mipa 2K), and the sanding was more akin to sculpting.
Moulded in MoldStar14T, main body cold-cast in SmoothCast Onyx with brass powder, polished with 0000 grade steel wool and black shoe polish. The gem is cast in SmoothCast 327, polished to transparency, and backed with aluminium foil to catch the light.
